Helena Mackenzie, PhD, is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Minnesota.  She received her bachelor’s degree at the University of California, Santa Cruz and her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Kent State University.  She moved to Minnesota in 2000 to complete her internship and post-doctoral fellowship training at Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC). IMG_4827 She then worked at a non-profit community mental health clinic for several years before returning to HCMC as a Senior Clinical Psychologist in 2005.   Dr. Mackenzie worked at HCMC until 2017, providing assessment and therapy services in the Adult Outpatient Therapy Clinic, where she was part of the Hennepin Women’s Mental Health Program, and providing consultation services to the inpatient medical and psychiatric units.  She additionally provided supervision and training in the hospital’s pre-and post-doctoral psychology training programs.  Dr. Mackenzie opened her private practice, Psychotherapy and Resilience, in 2016.  She has a special interest in women’s mental health, as well as working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, complex trauma (particularly survivors of childhood neglect and abuse), sleep difficulties, and adjustment difficulties relating to life transitions.  Dr. Mackenzie’s training has included extensive work with adults and adolescents.
